State Labor MP "Bullied" Turkish Councillor

This outlet last week had reported on the allegations of serial bullying against a Turkish-Australian councillor by a NSW State MP.

Daily Telegraph has published the full story with details of the case involving Fairfield's former councillor Serap Yilmaz.

The full page article by journalist Ben Pike reveals the details of the bullying case. According to Pike, Turkish-Australian councillor Serap Yilmaz had been systematically bullied by the NSW State MP Nick Lalich and his supporters.

Fairfield's popular mayor, Frank Carbone also reshared the story on his social media accounts with the mayoral minute he had moved to capture some of the incidents in 2019.

"To stay silent only encourages and promotes this bad behaviour and leaders should not be silent." said Mr Carbone in his post and told his followers that he'd be writing to Anthony Albanese and Chris Minns, to request a thorough investigation on the matter.

Australian Turkish Advocacy Alliance also said that they'd be seeking answers from the NSW Labor head office, and asked for members of the Australian-Turkish community to unite behind Ms. Yilmaz in these difficult times.
