Mustafa Erinc Yikar's appeal for a name suppression order has recently been refused by the Court of Appeal of New Zealand on the basis of an abuse of process after numerous similar orders previously sought by his former boss to delay public's right to know of their crimes.
Mr Yikar has been named by the New Zealand media outlets, as the house manager of Sir James Wallace's Epsom mansion, who attempted to bribe of the witnesses against the convicted sex offender.
In July 2021, Mr Wallace, with some estimates have a worth of almost $200 million, was convicted for sexually assaulting three men. Through a variety of court applications, he managed to supress himself being named until very recently.
Mr Yikar, who worked with Wallace since 2016, tried to stop one of the victims to come forward by offering the person over $50 thousand as bribe.
Yikar, who has been in New Zealand since 2001, also mentioned a seemingly joking conversation he had with Wallace about sending the victim to Turkey to have him killed.
"... you know, we going to put you in Istanbul, traffic accident, Gypsies there are cheap man, they do [it] for two hundred US, you know like, we jokingly talked about it, [the businessman] laughed and was like, 'this is not funny', so, I don't know," he said.
He has been sentenced to 12 months in home detention in 2021 for his role in the scheme for bribing the victim.
