Federal Budget 23-24: Vapes

Among the several early leaks from Labor's 2023/24 budget, there is a ban on vaping products and a tax hike for cigarettes.

The federal government plans to increase tobacco tax by 5% annually over three years, generating an additional $3.3 billion, while banning recreational vaping to combat nicotine addiction.

The new regulations will mandate pharmaceutical-style packaging, limit nicotine concentrations and volumes, and prohibit single-use vapes.
