Ryde City Council recently adopted a mayoral minute to show support for the illegal pro-Russian occupation of Azerbaijan by raising the ethnic Armenian occupiers' flag with a ceremony in Ryde. Mayor, Councillor Jordan Lane and Councillor Sarkis Yedelian, who is a prominent Armenian-Australian activist, are behind the motion.
The so-called Republic's leader, Arayik Harutyan was the first public figure to congratulate the people of Donbas after Putin's invasion of Ukraine. Later, a huge Russian flag laid on a hill in the occupied Khankendi, in the shape of letter Z which has been used by Russian troops in Ukraine as insignia.
In the wake of peace talks between Azerbaijan and Armenia to finally settle the illegal occupation of Azerbaijan's sovereign land by ethnic Armenian forces, leaders of the separatists began discussing a "sort of vertical integration" with Russia.
