In 2023, Turkish-Australians will join the rest of the Turkish diaspora communities across the world to celebrate the centenary of the Republic of Turkey. Planning meetings with leading community groups were held under the auspices of the Ambassador Korhan Karakoc this week in Sydney and Melbourne.
Celebrating the key achievements of the modern Turkish Republic founded by Mustafa Kemal Ataturk will be the key theme of activities planned for 2023.
Community leaders have decided to organise events appealing to both the members of the Australian-Turkish community and the wider Australians public.
Exhibitions from prominent artists of the Republic, academic seminars and activities promoting bilateral trade are planned, and will be executed by community organisations through out the year.
