Tickets for Sydney Republic Day Ball 2022, organised by the Australian Turkish Mutual Alliance are on sale. Dozens of VIP including politicians are expected to join the celebration.
Turkish diaspora communities across the world are getting ready celebrate the 99th anniversary of the inauguration of the Republic of Türkiye on 29 October 1923 by Mustafa Kemal Ataturk.
One of the key events making this historic day in Australia is organised by the Australian Turkish Mutual Alliance in the form of a black-tie gala event at Sydney's Accor Stadium.
The attendees will be welcomed with an on-field cocktail reception, during when they will be able to watch a specially curated visual show on the stadium's 120-meter wide screens.
The main event will be held at the main function room of the stadium, where shows from Austolian Youth Academy and Fire Birds are to be staged. Sydney's most loved Turkish entertainment group led by Levent and Ozkan are promising a wide variety of famous Turkish songs to entertain the participants.
The event may be the last one for the Sydney community to meet the Ambassador Korhan Karakoc, whose replacement has recently been appointed. Several State and Federal members of the Parliament have also indicated to join the Turkish community in this notable event.
Australian Turkish Mutual Alliance has in the past organised festivals marking the 40th and 50th anniversary of the arrival of the migrant Turkish workers to Australia, Turkish Film Festival and other gala events.
The association said that they hoped to cover the costs of putting such a big ticket item event with auctions and additional donations.
Their aim is to kick start a momentum ahead of next year's historic centenary celebrations.
