Ataturk Scholarship Awards Outstanding Australian and Australian-Turkish Scholars in 2023.

The Atatürk Scholarship has announced its 2023 recipients, recognizing outstanding scholars pursuing their academic dreams.



Among the recipients are Eylül Büyükatasan and Gamze Bakan, who have been selected as prestigious scholarship winners.

Eylül Büyükatasan is pursuing a Bachelor of Biomedicine degree at The Monash University in Victoria, with a career goal to become a neurosurgeon. Meanwhile, Gamze Bakan, originally from South Australia, will be studying Bachelor of Clinical Sciences/Doctor of Medicine at Flinders University, with a focus on paediatrics.

Cagla Alca has also been awarded the Sarik Ariyak Memorial Bursary. Alca, the inaugural winner of the Atatürk Scholarship, has returned to receive the award given to students who pass their first year with distinction. She is currently in her second year at Sydney University, pursuing a double degree in a Bachelor of Science and a Bachelor of Advanced Studies.

Additionally, Sophie Brown from South Australia has been awarded the Mustafa Kemal Atatürk Memorial Bursary. The scholarship is awarded to descendants of the ANZACs via the Gallipoli Scholarship. Brown is studying Bachelor of Music at the Conservatorium of Music – Sydney University.

"We are immensely proud of the achievements of these outstanding scholars and congratulate them on their well-deserved success," said the Atatürk Scholarship on the announcement of the 2023 recipients.

"Their dedication and hard work have earned them this prestigious recognition, and we look forward to seeing what they accomplish in the future."

The Atatürk Scholarship was established in honor of Mustafa Kemal Atatürk, the founder of modern Turkey, to promote academic excellence among Turkish-Australian students. Since its inception, the scholarship has helped numerous individuals pursue their academic dreams and achieve success in various fields.

The Atatürk Scholarship encourages Turkish-Australian students to apply and pursue their academic aspirations. The scholarship program provides financial support, mentorship, and networking opportunities to help students achieve their goals.

Congratulations to Eylül Büyükatasan, Gamze Bakan, Cagla Alca, and Sophie Brown for their exceptional achievements and recognition by the Atatürk Scholarship. Their success serves as an inspiration to other students to strive for academic excellence and pursue their dreams.
