ATA-A Condemns Tasmanian Parliament.

Australian Turkish Advocacy Alliance has released a statement condemning Tasmanian parliament for its "hypocrisy" in labelling the events of 1915 as genocide.

The association followed the Turkish diplomatic missions and various other organisations in releasing a statement.

Association representatives have told TVOA that they previously conveyed their condemnation to Tasmanian MPs via private emails and were waiting a reply before going public.

ATA-A has decided to release the press release in the absence of any respectful response, the association representative said.

"The Australian Turkish Advocacy Alliance (ATAA), representing the Australian-Turkish community, expresses its profound disappointment in the recent motion adopted by the Tasmanian Parliament titled, “Genocide of the Armenians, Assyrians, and Greeks.” the statement reads.

The full statement is available on the association's website.
